Well coming from a necro who is at 28 titles and 1.7K drunk minutes away from 30.

You really have to figure out what titles you are going to max to get to GWAMM.

I would suggest survivor unless you want to spend hours waiting for the LDOA to get set up.

This helps greatly and if my main wasn't 3 years old (prior to titles) I would have gone down that path. Now I am suck doing one of the real grind types one like wisdom. lucky or treasure hunter.

Those titles suck as a necro because chest running as a necro is slower due to little access to speed buffs and running skills. I use an SF build which allows me to burst through groups but there is stopping involved if the route isn't perfect.

As mentioned above though pick a character you enjoy playing. I prefer picked my necro because I found my self playing her more often then the rest of them (I have one of each class except RT) You are going to spend hours grinding out rep titles and what not so if you don't enjoy playing the style of your character you will get sick of it.

Biggest thing to remember when working on titles is to combine:

When vanquishing you can work on - Cart + Drunkard + treasure hunter + wisdom + Skill hunter + Lucky

When doing guardian you can also work on - Drunkard + treasure hunter + wisdom + Skill hunter + Lucky

When doing chest runs you can work on - Drunkard + treasure hunter + wisdom + Lucky

When grinding reps you can work on - Drunkard + treasure hunter + wisdom + L

So make sure you always have lock-picks and ale when you are playing. Also if you find the alcohol effect is distracting you while you play you can turn it off by going into option and turning off post-processing effect (someone verify this is what it is called)

Remember have fun and find friends to team up with, makes it go faster if you can just chill on vent when running chests or vanquishing

Legendary Defender of Ascalon and Survivor...

You either need a pet (may have fixed) or a friend to death level for you, or 2 accounts.

Besides that, I don't see any problems.
The ONLY way now to get legendary survivor AND legendary defender of ascalon is by using the fire imp, only it would require 14 years of continues playing. So it's practicaly impossible.

Ontopic:

I'd say monk or ele.

I'm going for GWAMM right now with my warrior and don't have any problem what so ever. Actually find VQ'ing way easier than with my necro, but hey

Like has been said, play with something you like as you're gonna spend a hell fo a lot of time playing with that character. If you don't know what you like, try them all for a bit. Check builds out in pvx wiki to see some examples of how a class works like, meh. Not much we can do here.

Wisdom/Chest is account-based you know.
So you can run them with anything.

I'd suggest a good DAMAGE class for PvE play.

Most of the work is done with either 1 friend and 6 heroes, or yourself and 3 heroes + 4 henchmen. That means you'll often want to lead, call key targets, that stuff. Playing classes such as Monk can kill you of boredom (of course there are people who love it, but I am sure I cannot stand it unless I play damage on Monk).

Now, what damage class? Nearly everything works, really, so pick whatever you think is more fun, looks better or has better loking armor.

Melee: Warrior, Assassin, Dervish. All three pack a punch. Great to play!! If you are a decent player, go Assassin for uber damage at the cost of being more fragile; most of the time it won't set you back at all. If you are slightly more reckless or just plain less skilled in melee, take an avatar-based Dervish or a Warrior, for almost same damage results (in some cases better than A), and at the same time having higher durability/utility than an Assassin.

Caster: Ele, Necro, Mesmer. Necro being easiest and overall best. Ele is pretty effective too, and simple, good farmer as well. Mesmer is more difficult overall, but it can really shine if you know how to play and manage your Energy well.

Rangers can be fun as well if that's your style. Decent balance of shutdown, resilience and damage.

Paragon, Monk or Ritualist are more of support classes, only make them if you really have a regular team/guild to play with... playing support with H/H really stinks IMHO.

My opinions from personal experience with all classes of course. Any of them is GWAMM capable.
